The Punjab govt. has engendered another exciting reason to Punjabis to celebrate. The much-awaited Inter State Bus Terminus in Phase VI Mohali is inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal today.
The ISBT is named after Sikh martyr Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. It is now opened for public. The buses which are earlier plying from the phase VIII stand now will operate from the new facility.
It is constructed by C & C Limited and has a contract f plying 1900 buses everyday for 24 hours from the terminal. A massive parking lot and a road has been constructed around the ISBT. Now the buses hailing down from Chandigarh will take a halt here and the commuters will get all long route buses from here.
The New Mohali ISBT surely is going to make a life little easier. For those who travel interstate so often will be relieved with this news. The structure and design of the terminus looks absolutely astounding.
It is a wonder gift to Punjabis by the Punjab govt. The bus stand is well equipped with all the essential facilities. Hotels, shops and restaurants are walled to offer a pleasurable journey to the travelers.
SAD has yet again delivered what it has promised. It is no denying that the overall public transport system has gone through great improvisation in the last ten year regime of SAD-BJP govt.
