After sprinter Dutee Chand completing the 100m run clocking at 11.30s secured her place in Rio Olympics 2016, two more Indian athletes have joined her. Ankit Sharma who is a long jump athlete along with Sarbani Nanda who is sprinter have qualified.
Ankit Sharma is a national record holder, qualified in the men’s Long Jump event after marking a length with jump of 8.17 meters.
Ankit Sharma hails from Madhya Pradesh and Srabani Nanda is from Odissha. Both the athletes along with Dutee Chand will be playing their chances at the Olympics.
Quarter-miler Mohammad Anas qualified for the Rio Olympics by beating records in the men’s 400m event on the second day of Polish Athletics Championship. Anas became the 100th Indian to qualify for Rio Olympics.
Manoj Kumar becomes the 2nd Indian boxer to secure his ticket at Rio games. Atanu Das qualifies for Rio Olympics in the men’s individual recurve event in archery.
The Rio Olympics 2016 are scheduled to be held from August 5 to August 21.
